sis on 8's in row 3 can solve this puzzle.

Code:
+------------------+---------------+-------------------+
| 1    359    35   | 259  4  7(8)  | 7(8)   25      6  |
| 459  7      48   | 259  6  (18)  | 3      1258    29 |
| 6    59(8)  2    | 59   3  7(18) | 47(8)  5(1-8)  49 |
+------------------+---------------+-------------------+
| 59   59     4(8) | 6    7  2     | 4-8    3       1  |
| 47   2(8)   6    | 1    9  3     | 5      28      47 |
| 27   13     13   | 8    5  4     | 6      9       27 |
+------------------+---------------+-------------------+
| 8    4      7    | 3    2  9     | 1      6       5  |
| 25   125    15   | 4    8  6     | 9      7       3  |
| 3    6      9    | 7    1  5     | 2      4       8  |
+------------------+---------------+-------------------+

looks like this.
kraken row 3 on 8's... r4c7 <> 8

(8)r3c2 - (8)r5c2 = (8)r4c3
||
(8)r3c6 - (8)r1c6 = (8)r1c7
||
(8)r3c7
||
(8)r3c8 - (1)r3c8 = (1)r3c6 - (1=8)r2c6 - (8)r1c6 = (8)r1c7

also note that the part in red eliminates the 8 in r3c8

Chasing more ADPs...............

Quote:
Type 4 UR(78)r13c67 x-wing overlay 7; r3c67<>8
internal SIS r3c6=1,r3c7=8: (8=1)r2c6-AUR(78)r13c67[(1)r3c6=(4)r3c7]-(4=8)r4c7-r4c3=(8)r2c3; r2c8<>8
This step demonstrates that it is possible to get additional deletions to standard Type "n" URs but the entire step is not necessary to complete this puzzle.

BUG-Lite+2 (135)r168c23 internal SIS r1c2=9,r8c2=2
BUG-Lite(135)r168c23[(9)r1c2=(2)r8c2]-(2=5)r8c1-(5=9)r4c1; r4c2<>9

No more useful ADPs, but a short extension of the vertex of a potential xy-wing does the trick: (8=9)r3c2-(9=3)r1c2-(3=5)r1c3-(5=2)r1c8-(2=8)r5c8; r5c2<>8

As an alternate one step solution.....

Flightless w-wing (25)r1c8,r8c1 SL (5)r18c3 plus transport (2)r8c1-r6c1=(2)r5c2;r5c8<>2

Ted

Norm, I truly enjoy your "uncommon" pattern steps Exclamation

I initially had an xy-chain ... but that's not good enough to keep up with Ted and Norm! So an ADP move...
Quote:
6-cell ADP(59) r2c14|r3c24|r4c12 ; r2c9<>2
(2)r2c4
||
(4)r2c1 - (4=7)r5c1 - (7=2)r6c1 - (2=5)r8c1 - r8c3=r1c3 - (5=2)r1c8
||
(8)3c2 - r5c2=(8-2)r5c8=r6c9

W-Wing (28); r6c123<>8 (move probably not needed)
DP (13-15-35) boxes 147; r8c2<>2 due to invalidity
