Code after basics.....

Code:
*--------------------------------------------------------------------*
 | 3      8      49     | 7      2      15     | 45     14569  1456   |

 |#47     3      2      | 1      9      6      | 457    457    8      |
 | 8      5      6      | 4      3      7      | 1      2      9      |
 | 147-9  1479  #49     | 2      5      8      | 6      47     3      |
 |----------------------+----------------------+----------------------|
 | 156    2      15     | 8      7      4      | 9      3      156    |
 |#79=46  479    3      | 5      1      2      | 8      467    46     |
 | 1457   147    8      | 3      6      9      | 2457   1457   1245   |
 *--------------------------------------------------------------------*

#1: AXY-wing (47-9) vertex (47)r4c1, pincers (49)r6c3 & (79)r8c1 with fins (46)r8c1; r6c1<>9
If fin is true: (46)r8c1-als(46=7)r8c89-(7=4)r6c8-(4=9)r6c3

Which opens up:

Code:
*--------------------------------------------------------------------*
 | 3      8     #49     | 7      2      15     |#45     14569  1456   |

 |#59=14  149    7      | 6      8      3      | 24-5   149-5  124-5  |
 |----------------------+----------------------+----------------------|
 | 47     3      2      | 1      9      6      | 457    457    8      |
 | 8      5      6      | 4      3      7      | 1      2      9      |
 | 147    1479   49     | 2      5      8      | 6      47     3      |
 |----------------------+----------------------+----------------------|
 | 156    2      15     | 8      7      4      | 9      3      156    |
 | 4679   479    3      | 5      1      2      | 8      467    46     |
 | 1457   147    8      | 3      6      9      | 2457   1457   1245   |
 *--------------------------------------------------------------------*

#2: AXY-wing(4-59) vertex (49)r1c3, pincers (45)r1c7 & (59)r3c1 with fins (14)r3c1; r3c789<>5
If fins are true:
(1)r3c1-r6c1=(1-9)r6c2=r6c3-(9=4)r1c3-(4=5)r1c7
(4)r3c1-als(147=5)r469c1-r9c789=(5)r7c9; r3c9<>5
(4)r3c1-(4=7=1)r46c1-(17=49)r6c23-(4=7)r6c8-(7=45)r14c7; r3c7<>5
(4)r3c1-(4=9)r1c3-r1c8=(9-5)r3c8; r3c8<>5

Yes, it looks like a mess. Please comment if anyone sees a better technique.

Ted

I took this puzzle from a file of Extreme puzzles. My solver's solution matches Peter's solution exactly.
