I think I stumbled in through a back trapdoor!
code after basics:

Kraken skyscraper (1)c16r3, marked #, with Kraken fin (1)r1c1, marked @; r4c3<>1
If fin is true: (1-3)r1c1=r5c1-r5c2=r9c2-(3=1)r9c3;
Ted
[daj Edit: changed r34c6 to c16r3] |

Ted, very nice spot
I like almost-patterns - but the coolest as Danny was alluding to - are the ones where the fin is actually true and the pattern is an illusory transient thing that doesn't appear in the solution path.
FWIW You can delete the fin with a transported s-wing(13)
Code: | s-wing(13) ; (3)r1c1=r1c3 - (3=1)r9c3 - (1)r4c3=r4c6 - r3c6=r1c4 ; r1c1<>1 |
[daj Edit: changed 1=3 to 3=1.] |

My previous comments aside, I admire a short, clean chain -- even if it's for a fin candidate. In Ted's case, the fin chain can be reduced to: (1-3)r1c1 = r1c3 - (3=1)r9c3. (I derived this alternative before Peter posted his chain.) |
