online tools appear stumped - as am I - can anyone tell me next step w/out guessing?

This is from Revenge Of the Ninja Sudoku, #171, Frank Longo.

oh - r4 c1,2 must be 2 removing 2 from rest of box. I cannot find how that helps me though. Hoping someone can give me hint w/ logic for next step. Thanks.

the 2 does help --
creates in r5 a "hidden" trio {2,6,8}

which solves the 1 for that row

The hidden triple 268 is, in fact, the key to the solution. This sets r5c6<>1, r5c7<>59, and r5c9<>59 which reveals the naked pair 28 in c6. This sets r6c5<>8 and you are off and running to the solution.
