Sorry, I am lost on this puzzle. I have spent a while on it and must be missing something.

Can you more clearly state which cells are the XY wing and what cell it helps you clear? I don't completely understand your notation.

The 59 cell is in r6c7, the 25 in r9c7 and the 29 in r6c8. Because both r7c8 and r8c8 see both the 25 and 29 cells, he is eliminating 2 from both of those cells in accordance with the definition of an XY-Wing.
