This wasn't particularly difficult, but I used more moves than usual, possibly due in part to the sequence in which I looked.
At any rate, I used two Sashimi X-Wings, Multi-coloring, Finned X-Wing and a flightless XY-Wing to finish it up. |

It really is a easy one.
I am assuming the an Empty Rectangle is too advanced for a puzzle to be VH on this site. Code: | *--------------------------------------------------------------------*
| 278 27 1 | 45678 9 4568 | 678 568 3 |
| 78 5 9 | 3 2 168 | 1678 68 4 |
| 4 6 3 | 1578 178 158 | 1278 9 125 |
|----------------------+----------------------+----------------------|
| 3 1 *8256 | 567 67 9 | 4 *256 8 |
| 56 8 456 | 2 146 3 | 9 7 156 |
| 9 24 7 | 14568 1468 14568 | 126 3 1256 |
|----------------------+----------------------+----------------------|
| 2567 247 24568 | 468 468 2468 | 3 1 9 |
| 1 3 68-2 | 9 5 7 |*268 4 *26 |
| 26 9 2468 | 1468 3 12468 | 5 *268 7 |
*--------------------------------------------------------------------*

Dan, would you be kind enough to explain the logic behind the ER? It doesn't look like the definition of an ER that I'm familiar with.
It does look like some sort of AIC to me, namely, if r4c3<>2, then r8c79+2; r8c3<>2. |

er 2
The empty rectangle is in box 9. If r9c8<>2 then r8c79=2
The SL (2) in row 4 means one of r4c3 or r4c8 is a 2 which ever r8c3 cannot be a 2.
This breaks the puzzle to basic moves. |

Sorry, I had my blinders on and only looked for an ER on box 6. For some reason I just haven't been looking for ERs lately. |

Another variation of the ER(2) is a Sashimi swordfish(2)r348c379; r6c79<>2
