XY-Chain. The 5 in r5c1 proves 2 in r2c6: r5c6<>2.

I have no idea what a W-Wing internal extension is, but I can follow along and see what I'd call an AIC. |

some aic patterns are called wings. for example:
W-Wing: (X=Y)a - (Y)b ... = (Y)c - (Y=X)d
(5...=1)r2c2-(1...=2)r2c3-(2)r2c6=(2)r5c6-(2=5)r5c1 => r2c1,r5c2<>5
The 1 extension (internal in the pattern rather than external outside the pattern) in r2c2 and r2c3 provide the construct (X=Y)a or (5=2)r2c23
I guess it could be written:
(5=2)r2c23-(2)r2c6=(2)r5c6-(2=5)r5c1 => r2c1,r5c2<>5
this fits the pattern for a w-wing. but then again I usually get it all backwards. |

| Marty,
I see ab R2C23 as a pseudocell, 25. Then I see the W-wing.

A reflection:
Is it necessary to include r2c2 and r2c3 in the solution?
For a manual solver, it is easy to see the hidden single r2c1=3 if r2c6=2.

Another pseudocell solution is a xy-wing(24-1) with pincers(12)r5c6 and (14)r9c2 plus pseudocell (24)r5c12.

Agreed, although I'd have never seen it on my own. |
