XY-Wing 29 23 39 pivoted in r5c6; r4c2<>9 solves it. |

With my usual reluctance, it solved with basics, both with pencil and paper and then on Draw/Play. |

I got here with basics. I see a 23 w-wing Code: |
*--------------------------------------------------*
| 1 379 39 | 5 8 24 | 6 23 47 |
| 5 37 8 | 24 6 1 | 9 23 47 |
| 2 4 6 | 3 7 9 | 1 8 5 |
|----------------+----------------+----------------|
| 6 39 5 | 29 4 8 | 7 1 239 |
| 7 1 39 | 6 5 23 | 8 4 239 |
| 4 8 2 | 79 1 37 | 5 6 39 |
|----------------+----------------+----------------|
| 3 6 7 | 1 2 5 | 4 9 8 |
| 8 2 1 | 47 9 47 | 3 5 6 |
| 9 5 4 | 8 3 6 | 2 7 1 |

OK, on try #3 basics didn't do it. XY-Wing (293); r5c3<>3.
One frustrating thing about Sudoku is that one often can't learn from his mistakes because I have no idea what I did wrong the first two times. |
