Played five not-very-helpful moves and am hopelessly stuck. Can't even Medusa my way out of it.

You have a wildcat by its tail in this one!!!

My solver didn't find anyplace pretty to go from here.

If I had made some mechanical error and this grid was not valid, would your solver have noted that?

Yes. It found a solution, but it's far from "fun".

Thanks. I won't waste any further time on it. Funny how one like this is impossible and others with similar ratings are one- or two-steppers.
