Look in C39. The pincers are R4C8 R5C5. Color on 2 from each pincer.

Maybe semantics, maybe different ways of visualizing things. I still can't see it as a W-Wing connected by strong link(s) on 2, but can easily see how it works as an AIC.

A fun X-Chain. However, you can reduce it to Kite/Turbot/ER c-d-e-f for r2c9<>2. Then a Locked Candidate and Singles complete the puzzle.

If A is 2, b is not 2, c is 2, d is not 2, e is 2, F is 7.

If F is 2, e is not 2, d is 2, c is not 2, b is 2, A is 7.

AF are pincers on 7.

A W-wing excited by a grouped skyscraper, if you will.

Keith

Didn't Danny point out the possibility of one of these over a year ago?

I recall a post that went something like this:

A Turbot (kite / skyscraper) is aX=bX-cX=dX where abcd are any cadidates, = is a strong link, - is a weak link.

The argument is, one or both of the cells containing b and c is not X, so one or both of the cells containing a and d is X.

So, if you have XY-aX=bX-cX=dX-XY, the end cells are pincers on Y.
