An xy-wing (179) pivoted at r9c3 solves it. A hidden pair (26) is not needed to use. |

If you'd like something little harder, try the "Other Puzzles".
If you'd like options for much harder puzzles, try Danny's DAJ puzzles.
No one will mind if you want to reopen a discussion on any of these.

Sometimes I find them easy sometimes I find them impossible, this particular puzzle just didn't appear to need anything special to solve it. Normally a VH takes me just over 9 minutes to solve when I can do them. I suspect the one I can't solve are ones that involve techniques I haven't learnt. |

All VH puzzles here can be solved with nothing more than X-, XY- and XYZ-Wings. |

I probably just haven't spotted them ten when i haven't been able to do them. Jan 4's medium puzzle took longer than Jan 3's VH by nearly a minute. I guess it just depends whether you see the key to solving the puzzles. |

I came with the same Grid as shown by Hughwill above. As you have pointed out ''This particular puzzle didn't need anything special to solve it". Do you mean you solved it from basics only(sweeping)? Can you show how you did it. |
