If you have an image as a jpg,png,gif or tif you can include it in a message as follows:

go to Tinypic.com: http://tinypic.com/

Put something meaningful in the Tag box. You can search for the image later.

Click on "Browse", and find the file on your computer. Select the file, and click "Open" in the browser widget. Click "Host Image". You will then get a screen that shows your image:



Copy the text labelled "Img" and paste it into your forum message. The IMG tags are already attached.

... and make sure your picture is within the size limits set by the forum software (not sure about this one, 600 px wide seems ok).

some sites offer the option of including thumbnails in the post with clickable link to the original.

Hey, it looks like it's working! So let me get this straight. I /must/ use tinypic.com and not photobucket, etc?

Obviously tinypic is now defunct but this general method works with any link to a picture so long as it is jpg or png.
