I wasn't paying enough attention. I played an M-Wing on 12 in b 58, but after the fact, I see it's a W-Wing with SL 2 in c4. |

I played an X wing on 1 in r67c58, but missed the XY wing. Great elimination.
Looks like I need to look up M-wings also.

Marty, I could not find the W-wing. If you would, please spell it out for me.
I have looked up M-wings and your instruction with respect to this puzzle would be helpful.
Thanks for your time and consideration.

Well, note the 12 cells in b5&8. They are connected by the strong link on 2 in c4. |

Keith, thank you. I am still trying to absorb.
Marty, help me understand the strong link on 2 in c4. It looks like to me that there are 3 occurrences of 2 in c4. I thought that a strong link had to have only two occurrences in a house (in this case c4).

Mike,
This had me laughing, because I posted the same concern after I learned about the W-Wing. Those three 2s operate as a strong link since there either is a 2 in b5 or one in b8. |

I am grinning, too.
A little bit of history:
Someone told me I should have been a Professor. Well, I was for a while.
I have a learning style: I don't think I adequately understand something until I can explain it to someone else. That's why I have written all these tutorials. More or less, to logically explain it to myself.
The history is that George Woods first noticed a pattern in the Daily Sudoku puzzles. I documented it, and called it a W-wing in honor of George.
About the same time, I noticed that Medusa Coloring could also result in short chain eliminations. I figured that out, and called them M-wings because of Medusa, but also, M is the initial of my surname.
That all led to the "remote pairs" post referenced above.
