Another one that was a lot of fun! I used my favorite method again to solve it.
Code:

Grid after basics.
Code:

+-------------+-------------+----------------+
| 123 23  12  | 4   67  67  | 9   5    8     |
| 9   4   6   | 1   5   8   | 7   2    3     |
| 8   5   7   | 2   3   9   | 46  1    46    |
+-------------+-------------+----------------+
| 6   279 249 | 3   278 1   | 5   4789 479   |
| 24  1   8   | 5   9   27  | 3   6    47    |
| 5   79  3   | 68  678 4   | 1   789  2     |
+-------------+-------------+----------------+
| 123 6   129 | 7   4   5   | 8   39   19    |
| 7   8   49  | 69  1   236 | 246 349  5     |
| 134 39  5   | 689 268 236 | 246 3479 14679 |
+-------------+-------------+----------------+

(9=4)r8c3-(4=39)r78c8-9r6c8=r6c2=>r9c2<>9!

Kudos to you dongrave for your chain/loop savvy. I don't even pretend to get a grip on those things...lol. Different strokes for different folks, as they say. Much preferred the W-Wing approach as per Gianni.

cheers...immp

Ha! Thanks immpy! I know what you mean! You know what? I heard that Keith doesn't use pencil marks! I've thought about asking a doctor to visit him sometime! Smile

I try not to use pencil marks. But I do use them on occasion, especially for VH and Advanced puzzles. It's a way to make easier puzzles a little more challenging.

I start by putting in PMs only for cells that have two candidates. That will find XY-wings, etc.

Since I developed the idea of patterns of cells where useful strong links can lie, I have become quite good at finding skyscrapers and kites with no PMs.
