All,
I am sorry to let you know that Marty Robinson passed away on the evening of March 16, 2020 [Typo corrected]. He lived in Rochester, NY, USA.
Marty will be remembered by us as the long-time moderator of this, the DailySudoku discussion list. He contributed very much to the spirit of helpfulness and civil discourse, which was very unusual in the Sudoku discussion lists of that time. He was also very modest, even humble, about his own considerable skills as a pencil and paper Sudoku puzzle solver.
I will remember him as a good friend and counsellor.

Hello Keith
I am very sorry to hear this. I'm not around here very much these days but remember Marty very keen to learn and supportive of many who came here. He referred to his love of Sudoku as "the sickness" 😄

Hello all,
Just now spotted this. Rest in Peace MartyR. His posts here were just what I needed to find my own "breakthrough" moments, along with those by keith. His eloquence and style will surely be missed, but never forgotten. He will always be present, looking over our shoulders as we deem to solve these addictive puzzles we have come to enjoy....
