If you plug 3 into r3c5 the loop a to e removes it ?

Indeed, I just noticed that this a2e loop also removes the 3's in r1c13 as well

Coming full circle remember the Batman v yellow teeth ?

The 3’s at a and e are the pincers at the end of an xy- chain. Either the 3 in a or the 3 in e is true. Whichever is true, r1c13 and r3c5 <> 3
