An xy-wing and a Swordfish solved it for me. But are there any shorter routes that I missed?

There is an xy-wing with pivot in R8C5, eliminating three <7>'s, that
solves the puzzle in one step.
The grid after basics :
Code: |
+---------------+-------------+----------------+
| 9 247 257 | 6 128 38 | 34578 3578 12 |
| 2567 8 2567 | 13 129 4 | 357 3567 129 |
| 246 3 1 | 7 5 89 | 48 68 29 |
+---------------+-------------+----------------+
| 3 67 9 | 8 67 1 | 2 4 5 |
| 1 267 27 | 4 367 5 | 37 9 8 |
| 8 5 4 | 9 37 2 | 1 37 6 |
+---------------+-------------+----------------+
| 67 1 678 | 5 4 78 | 9 2 3 |
| 57 79 3578 | 2 89 3789 | 6 1 4 |
| 24 249 23 | 13 19 6 | 58 58 7 |
+---------------+-------------+----------------+

Hmm - saw (and used) the xy, but must have missed one of the 7s.
Must try harder!

I also noticed the XY at R8c5 but at that time, I only had a 7 at r8c6 to eliminate which still solved the puzzle for me. I don't recall how I eliminated the other 7(s) so I am going to solve it again.

At this point the XY-wing @ takes out three <7>'s:
Code: | +-------------------+-------------------+-------------------+
| 9 247 257 | 6 128 38 | 34578 3578 12 |
| 2567 8 2567 | 13 129 4 | 357 3567 129 |
| 246 3 1 | 7 5 89 | 48 68 29 |
+-------------------+-------------------+-------------------+
| 3 67# 9 | 8 67# 1 | 2 4 5 |
| 1 26-7# 27 | 4 36-7# 5 | 37 9 8 |
| 8 5 4 | 9 37 2 | 1 37 6 |
+-------------------+-------------------+-------------------+
| 6-7 1 6-78 | 5 4 78@ | 9 2 3 |
| 57 79@ 3578 | 2 89@ 3-789 | 6 1 4 |
| 24 249 23 | 13 19 6 | 58 58 7 |
+-------------------+-------------------+-------------------+
|
Note there is also a UR which takes out another couple of <7>'s. In any event, look for the pair <24> in C1 and then a hidden triple <357> in R2.
