Help, I am stuck. This is what I have so far, but I don't know what to do next. Any suggestions?

I know that:
on row 11 the combination 2E is restricted to c1 and c10,
on row 15 the combination 1F is restricted to c1 and c3,
on row 16 the combination 4V is restricted to c1 and c2,
on row 16 the combination 236A is restricted to c9,10,11,12.

What am I missing??

Thanks a million,
Thom

It's good to hear from you, Thom.

In row 5 of your grid I think only one cell will accommodate 9. Perhaps this will help.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your answer, but -- unfortunately -- I already had the 9 in r5c8, which leaves only three possible positions for 3AD on r5, and CD for r6c8, BC for r9c8 and BCD for r11c8.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks Smile

Yes, I wondered if that was the case.

To finish the puzzle I think you need to eliminate D using the x-wing based on rows 5 and 8 (cover provided by columns 6 and 9).

If x-wings are unfamiliar, you might find SadMan’s explanation helpful.

Thanks, Steven, that did the trick: I finished the whole thing in 10 minutes after eliminating some of the Ds!
