You can find the HTML characters here:
http://www.natural-innovations.com/wa/doc-charset.html
For example, to get a "not equal" character, ≠, you would type the character string
≠
immediately followed by a semicolon.

Ignore my messages in the Test section. I was just trying out different things. To make a "not equal" sign:
Edit a message.
Type the following as one string without the spaces:
& # 8 8 0 0 ;
Then use Preview to look at it. You should see:
≠

Yes, thanks, it did indeed work. It's different from special characters like ¢, é, or °, just to cite a few. These appear immediately after typing, as opposed to being created when doing a Preview or Post. I tried it on two other forums that I frequent and it worked on one, but not on the other. But this is the forum where it would have the most use.
