obvious UR on {4,8} in r4c38 and r5c38
then an x-wing on 3's
then an awesome multicoloring elimination on {9} killing the 9 in r6c8
I marked the coloring in the grid.
the capitol R, G is one coloring chain
the lower r, g is the other chain.
the rule states that if R and r share a column, row or box then the other greens ( G and g ) can eliminate a candidate they both can see.
any thoughts or corrections or simplification would be nice. |

I don't understand. The chain with capital letters is three cells and I thought coloring chains have to be even number of cells. But regardless, it seems like the elimination of the 9 is from a simple skyscraper in columns 3 and 7. Maybe I'm missing something. |

There is an ER for digit <9> in Box 9, the ERI in R8C8 can see one of the strong link* on <9> in C3, which
eliminates <9> in R6C8 and the puzzle succumbs

So far as I can see, the UR solves it, with only singles to follow. I was looking at how to do it without the UR, it seems quite difficult.
By the way, there is also a Type 6 UR on <37> in R12C37. It takes out <3> in R1C3.

I noticed something else to solve the puzzle with one move, when R3C4=3, it creates a [37] DP in R12C37, which means that R3C4=4 |
