sudoku Sun 20 August 06 very hard. after filling in all the pencil marks, had to ask for a hint and came up with a 3 in r3c2. At this point I have {3,5} in this position. can someone shed some light.

I hope I have got it correct from memory. look at box4 col1 and with 5 constrained to row 5 there are a pair of 34.in col1 so this allows you to see r3c2 as 3 since r3c1 cannot be 3! |

Need further explanation why 3 in c2r3
Choices for 3 are in row 3
235 35 25 69 69 48 48 7 1
row 4:
34 368 7 459 459 2 35 1 3458
row 5
245 58 9 3 1 6 48 28 7
Row 6
234 1 26 8 457 57 9 26 345 |

There is a naked pair 26 in row 6. Eliminate the 2 from r6c1 and you get the pair 34 in column 1, which eliminates the 3 from r4c2.
In column 2 then only the 3 in r3c2 is left. |
