The Times 2 June 2007 (Fiendish) ... is not symmetric.

True. It was disappinting, needing only singles. Omitting ome of the clues made it a little more interesting.

The symmetric one (take out <5> as an initial value in R7C5) is about as difficult as the one you posted.
