Mostly good fun - bit harder than a VH (skyscraper etc.), but with a sting in the tail.

Nice puzzle.

Normally i would call it a ..wing with transport. But i spotted it this way:

On the one hand i had
Either A=x or B=x
On the other hand i saw
Either A=y or B=x

So B is pinned to x.

There is a w-wing (25) that apparently does nothing, but one arm can be extended by coloring which then eliminates the 5's in the bottom row of box 7 and opens the puzzle.

In this position:

Code:
+----------------------------------------------+
| 256  356 25  | 57  34 578 | 1     3468  9    |
| 7    356 4   | 9   1  58  | 368   368   2    |
| 1    9   8   | 2   34 6   | 5     47    347  |
------------------------------------------------
| 245  7   1   | 56  25 9   | 238+4 238+6 38+6 |
| 256  56  3   | 567 8  4   | 27    9     1    |
| 2469 8   29  | 1   27 3   | 46    5     67   |
------------------------------------------------
| 8    4   6   | 3   9  27  | 27    1     5    |
| 3    2   57  | 8   7  1   | 9     46    46   |
| 59   1   579 | 4   6  25  | 238   238+7 38+7 |
+----------------------------------------------+

I happened to notice a MUG in r49c789.. It eliminates 2 from r49c7 because, if the bottom line contains 7, r7c7 contains 2 while, if the top line contains 4 or 6, r5c7 contains 2.

The eliminations do not seem to be useful but these patterns are thought to be rare. It is surprising to find another so soon.

Well spotted, Steve R,

you can see the eliminations directly, because out of 238 you can only find the 2 in r57c7 outside the MUG in the 2 boxes. One of them must be true (but of course its a naked pair 27 anyway).
