Interesting, yes. It can be solved with two multicoloring steps:
Code: | +--------------+----------------+------------------+
| 468 2 168 | 3 7 489 | 5 14 19 |
| 48 5 18 | 6 89 2489 | 3 7 #1-29 |
| 9 3 7 | 1 5 24 | 2b4B 8 6 |
+--------------+----------------+------------------+
| 3 18 26 | 4 689 7 | 19 12 5 |
| 7 4 9 | 5 2 1 | 8 6 3 |
| 2a6 18 5 | 89 689 3 | 14b9 12A4B 7 |
+--------------+----------------+------------------+
| 1 6 28 | 289 3 89 | 7 5 4 |
| 5 7 3 | 28 4 6 |#1-2 9 128 |
| 2A8 9 4 | 7 1 5 | 6 3 2a8 |
+--------------+----------------+------------------+ |
There is a weak AB "bridge" in r6c8, making a strong ab pair and eliminating <2>s as shown, #.
Then:
Code: | +--------------+----------------+-----------+
| 68 2 168 | 3 7 89 | 5 4 19 |
| 4 5 18 | 6 89 2 | 3 7 19 |
| 9 3 7 | 1 5 4 | 2 8 6 |
+--------------+----------------+-----------+
| 3 18 26 | 4 68 7 | 9 12 5 |
| 7 4 9 | 5 2 1 | 8 6 3 |
| 2a6A 18 5 | 89b #6a8-9 3 | 4 12 7 |
+--------------+----------------+-----------+
| 1 6 2a8 | 2A89B 3 89 | 7 5 4 |
| 5 7 3 | 28 4 6 | 1 9 28 |
| 2A8 9 4 | 7 1 5 | 6 3 28 |
+--------------+----------------+-----------+ |
Now, the AB "bridge" is in r7c4 and we have an "ab" elimination of <9> from r6c5. |

There is an xy-wing (124) with pincers of (2) which seems to do nothing, but the one arm can be extended by coloring to eliminante the (2) at R8C7. Later there is simple coloring (skyscraper) of 8's to finish the puzzle. Nice challange.

Looked hopefully at the identical pairs. I think all three 89s are what Keith calls 'complementary' - all 8s or all 9s. And the 28s are all related. But I couldn't see anything useful to do with this and ended up with a few (not very long) XY-chains. So not as original as Asellus or Earl. |
