This did not require any advanced techniques. Was a big dissapointment. Checkt the solution twice and I couldn't find any mistakes. |

And I agree! It was so easy I thought I'd made a mistake. |

Ohh Kay.........
I guess there's no point in showing you my Unique Rectangle or my little x wing. Put them away, you say - back to the drawing board and the basics. |

OK again: I played a round of golf - had a couple of pints - then revisited this "Medium at best". I give up - what's the next basic and non-VH step.
Code: |

The next steps that I see are the 2 separate Unique Rectangles:
The '<28> in rows 5 and 6, and the <69> in columns 2 and 3...after that, I believe that you're home free.
Still, I sure wish that I was golfing today...beautiful in Michigan! |

Check your 5s in boxes 7/8/9. That should clear some things up. |

Stevieboy: Your solutions are VH techniques
ZX: Unless I am mistaken you are refering to an x-wing on 5. Again a VH thing.
The above posts state that the puzzle does NOT need VH techniques and can be solved by basics only. There's the rub! |

Craig,
the 5s in row 7 are confined to square 9, that removes 5 from r8c7,r9c7 |

It was really an easy puzzle, just basics. I didn't even have to practice with Unique Recs or x wings. |
