I took a break to fix an anomaly in my puzzle generator and to review how I choose puzzles to submit. (For those not forced to read USA government documents during their career, anomaly means bug.)
Anyway, I seem to be dragging my feet on addressing the anomaly, so I thought that I'd post again. Note: There isn't anything technically wrong with these puzzles. They just don't represent the logic that I'd intended.
This puzzle only needs VH techniques, but there's a twist that doesn't occur often. Unfortunately, the twist isn't necessary to solve the puzzle.

Just a one-stepper and, unfortunately, no twists noted.

I just played them as I saw them for six steps: x-wing, multi-coloring, kite, UR, and two xy-wings.
I did not look for the "twist", but may do so later ......
Again, a fun puzzle.

After basics, there's a [c47] X-Wing in (5) that exposes an XY-Wing that cracks the puzzle.
The Twist: The first X-Wing also exposes a [c15] X-Wing in (5) that exposes two more XY-Wings, one of which cracks the puzzle.
I don't recall one X-Wing in a candidate immediately exposing a second X-Wing in that candidate. I'm sure it happens, but I suspect that it is rare. |
