Yes, I guess this one was a little different. It was a five-stepper, as I tried to see if I could solve it without using the two obvious Type 1 URs.

I took 6 steps - so I guess at least one was redundant. Type 1 UR; ER's on 3 and 4, Skyscrapers on 4 and 9; xyz wing on 349.
What was meant by a "change of pace". |

Well, I thought it was going to be easier for everyone to solve -- only two non-Basic steps necessary.
Code: | c2b1 Naked Pair <> 49 [r45c2]
r7 Naked Pair <> 49 [r7c1458]
UR Type 1 [r13c27] <> 49 [r1c7] ***
r4 Naked Triple <> 149 [r4c5]
c5 Naked Pair <> 36 [r8c5]
b8 Naked Triple <> 459 [r89c4]
Remote Pair (2x Skyscraper) <> 49 [r4c1],[r6c4] ***
b6 Naked Pair <> 49 [r5c789]

...yeah but some non-basic steps are more non-basic than others. I'll stick with my 6 step programme. |
