I am a novice in Sudoku, only starting about two months ago. Can one of you please explain the terminology used for solving these puzzles as well as how they look(pairs/candidates,etc.)?
I have solved quite a few puzzles, the medium ones are nice and I seem to have conguered them. The hard puzzles I have solved, are only a few, without resorting to "candidates" (is this the correct term for chousing between two options?). I find that for the very hard puzzles, I need to resort to this method at some point to solve it. |

Hi, Johnny! It's nice to meet you.
Quite a lot has already been written on this subject. This recent discussion may prove of interest. There are also quite a few links to explanatory material in this post in another forum.
If you have additional questions after reading some of that stuff, please ask again. dcb |
