| 3     69   *1679 | 5     67    4    | 8    *19    2    |

| 257   1257  4    | 9     27    8    | 6     135  3-5   |
:------------------+------------------+------------------:
| 1     3     2    | 6     4     9    | 5     7     8    |

| 6     4     3    | 1     8     5    | 9     2     7    |
'------------------'------------------'------------------'

when I see the conjugate 1's in column 3, I notice how they connect the {1,9} cell in r1c8 and the {1,3} cell in r8c7 like a w-wing (by the way, this is what I and Asellus meant by mixed w-wing).
then my eyes are drawn to how candidate 5 shares a cell with each of those candidates close by
as in the case of the {3,5} cell in r8c9 and the {5,9} cell in r2c8

so if either the 9 or the 3 is true in the two ends of the mixed w-wing,
then this makes the 5's true in r2c8 and r8c9 and eliminates the 5 in r3c9.

this puts a whole in the puzzle which is left with a BUG and places 2 in r3c1.

What have you got against eliminating 5 in r7c8 as well? Smile

Seriously, I lose track of the forest for the trees when manually searching for relationships in a PM. I'm envious of your success!!!

My two step solution starts with a xy<145> with pivot <45> at r7c8 and pseudo-cell <15> in r12c8. Transport the <1> in r1c8 to r8c3 via r1c3 to delete <1> from r7c2 and r8c7. Then a xy-wing<127> completes the task.
