I used an XY-Wing (576), W-Wing (12), XY-Wing (125) and a 4th move.
That move was one of those with a strong link that says this cell must be one thing or that cell must be another thing. I think Norm has called it a Mixed W-Wing and Danny has referred to it as an XY-Chain from the inside out. |

Five steps:
xy-wing 567,
x-wing 7,
w-wing 12,
xy-wing 157,
finned x-wing 1.

yeah,
w-wings are easy to spot because of the two identical bi-value cells.
but I find the "mixed" ones by spotting the strong inference first.
like maybe there is only two 2's in a row or two 4's in a box. then look to see what bi-value cells they see.
If they do, I continue forming the chain, hence why Danny calls it "inside out" because I form the chain from the middle strong inference. I am not looking for the end bi-value cells first. |
