UR13[(5)r7c6 = (9)r7c7] - (9)r9c8 = (9-5)r6c8 = (5)r4c9; r7c9 <> 5
notice how this is also known as a M-wing. |

Dan,
On 1433, I used a couple of URs and got stuck, looking for, but unable to find, an XY-Chain. Yours is very evident with the pincers marked with asterisks. However, what is the significance of the cells marked abc? |

I was just trying to show the chain...not very well
* works to show the pinchers but how do you show the links of the chain? |

Not fancy notation, but the way I describe those things is:
R1c5=3-->r3c4=9-->r3c6=6-->r3c7=8-->r9c7=5. I suppose if I were to show it, I'd show the five cells as abcde and state that the cells should be followed alphabetically. But I'm sure that's a very non-standard way of doing things, although it's been used here a lot until Eureka became more heavily used. |

1435 wasn't very diabolical. A Type 4 UR on 13 and a 351 XY-Wing did it. |

For 1433, I used an extended xy-wing 359 with pivot 39 in r3c4 and pincer 35 in r1c5. The extended 95 pincer is 96 => 68 => 85 to delete 5 from r1c7.
I looking at the previous posts, I realize this is the identical to the xy-chain found by Dan. I have a terrible time finding xy-chains but have more luck with extending xy-wings which really become xy-chains as in this puzzle.

For 1435, I used the same two steps as posted by Marty.
