A refreshing change from the same old routine solution.
A Solution: 589 xyz-wing eliminates the 8 in R4C4 and solves the puzzle.

After basics: Code: | +-------------+-------------+-------------+
| 7 9 3 | 6 48 48 | 1 5 2 |
| 1 5 8 | 79 79 2 | 36 34 346 |
| 2 4 6 | 1 5 3 | 8 9 7 |
+-------------+-------------+-------------+
| 38 7 5 | 28 1 6 | 4 23 9 |
| 38 2 4 | 589 89 7 | 356 1 36 |
| 6 1 9 | 245 3 45 | 25 7 8 |
+-------------+-------------+-------------+
| 4 3 7 | 58 26 58 | 9 26 1 |
| 9 8 2 | 3 46 1 | 7 46 5 |
| 5 6 1 | 47 247 9 | 23 8 34 |
+-------------+-------------+-------------+ | The pair of <36> in B36 can be seen as either a W-wing or a (rare) Type 6 UR. Either way, those two cells are solved as <6>.
Which does not solve the puzzle ...

Yes indeed the extra solution of two sixes does not help, but the xyz wing 589 works either before or afterwards! |
