I went all over the place on this one! But essentially mogulmeisters path with diversions...
Quote: | x-wing(9)
Colouring (8) (Skyscraper) r5c4<>8
Multi-colour wrap (8) r8c2<>8, r9c6<>8
xyz-wing(246) r1c4<>2
Type 1 UR(26)
Type 1 UR(45) |
Lots of choices! |

My seven-stepper was similar to Peter's, but with some different moves. The last move was using the 9 to kill the DP 14-14-17-17-47-479. |

This puzzle was harder than I realized. My solver showed: X-Wing, Skyscraper, and two UR4s. Normally, only one UR is needed when my solver lists them together. That was not the case with this puzzle.
Fortunately, finding either UR4 led to the other becoming a UR1 later.

Yes that was the unexpected surprise - I thought the initial skyscaper and the first UR would do it. Nice puzzle!
Peter, did you notice that the skyscaper on 8s actually eliminated three 8's ?
