I sent a Private Message(PM) but I later found it in my "Outbox" rather than in my "Sentbox". Is this because the "Inbox" of the person I am trying to contact full?
Any ideas or suggestions............

Ted, this is my take, based strictly on experimenting by sending PMs to myself. A Sent PM will remain in the Outbox until the recipient opens it, after which it moves to your Sent box. Thus, you can cancel a PM that's still in the Outbox. However, I don't know what happens if the recipient's Inbox is full. Maybe it accepts it but drops the oldest one?
Like I said, it's based just on monkeying around by sending stuff to myself.
Hope this helps.

my guess would be,
not quite "until the recipient opens it" --
just until the recipient logs ini.e. when you see it has moved to Sentbox,
this does not prove the recipient has opened it |

Pat, not according to my test. I logged in and it was still in the Outbox. It moved to Sent as soon as I opened it. But again, this is just sending stuff to myself. Maybe something different happens with two parties involved. |

I will send Pat and Marty a message later today. Don't open it, but do post a message here saying that you've logged in and been notified of a message. I'll check my mail boxes after reading your posts ... and report on the status.
Personally, it's been my experience that messages stay in my Outbox until opened by the recipient.
Regards, Danny |

OK, I was logged in automatically and opened my Inbox but didn't open the message. |

I opened my message about 3:22. I then sent another message to myself to check something. Notice in the Outbox (or any other box) the "Flag" column to the left of the message subject. Just hover the mouse over the yellow flag and it says "Unread message." So the answer has been there all along. |

And I thank all three of you for pursuing and resolving the question
