Two steps with one of many chains..
Quote: | turbot/ER(2) (2)r6c5=r6c3 - r2c3=r3c1 ; r3c5<>2
xy-chain (8=3)r5c3 - (3=6)r6c2 - (6=5)r8c2 - (5=6)r7c3 - (6=5)r7c6 - (5=8)r1c6 ; r1c3<>8 |
While playing with this puzzle seemed like there were quite a few 'back doors', here's one painful one! (I've been reading too many of Mm's post - the dark side beckons!)
Quote: | Almost-ANP(56) fin 7(r8c6)
ANP (2=56)r78c6 - (56=8)r1c6 - r3c6=(8-2)r3c1=r2c3 ; r2c6<>2
fin (7-6)r8c6=r8c2 - r7c3=(6-2)r6c3=r2c3 ; r2c6<>2 |

I have no idea why I picked a hard puzzle after returning from a trip but I won't do so next time...........
1.) ANP(35=2)r45c4-(2=5)r4c1-r4c458*=r6c78-r6c5=(5)r5c4*; r17c4<>5
This brings us to the following:
Code: | *-----------------------------------------------------------*
| 1 4 358 | 36 35 568 | 2 9 7 |
| 6 357 235 | 9 1 257 | 8 35 4 |
| 258 357 9 | 4 2357 2578 | 35 1 6 |
|-------------------+-------------------+-------------------|
| 25 9 7 | 235 238 4 | 6 358 1 |
| 58 1 358 | 35 6 9 | 4 7 2 |
| 4 356 2356 | 7 238 1 | 35 358 9 |
|-------------------+-------------------+-------------------|
| 7 8 56 | 26 9 256 | 1 4 3 |
| 3 56 4 | 1 57 567 | 9 2 8 |
| 9 2 1 | 8 4 3 | 7 6 5 |
*-----------------------------------------------------------* |
2.) Flightless AXY-wing -256 with vertex (56)r7c3, pincers (25)r2c3 & (26)r7c4 and fin (3)r2c3
If xy-wing is true with transport: (2)r2c3-r3c1=(2)r4c1; r4c4<>2
If fin is true: (3)r2c3-r5c3=r5c4-(3=28)r46c5-(2)r4c4; r4c4<>2
3.) Flightless xy-wing 3-56 vertex (36)r6c2 plus transport: (5)r6c7-r6c8=(5)r2c8; r2c2<>5
The code at this stage is:
Code: | *--------------------------------------------------*
| 1 4 358 | 6 35 58 | 2 9 7 |
| 6 37 235 | 9 1 257 | 8 35 4 |
| 28 357 9 | 4 357 28 | 35 1 6 |
|----------------+----------------+----------------|
| 25 9 7 | 35 28 4 | 6 38 1 |
| 58 1 38 | 35 6 9 | 4 7 2 |
| 4 36 236 | 7 28 1 | 35 358 9 |
|----------------+----------------+----------------|
| 7 8 56 | 2 9 56 | 1 4 3 |
| 3 56 4 | 1 57 567 | 9 2 8 |
| 9 2 1 | 8 4 3 | 7 6 5 |
*--------------------------------------------------* |
4.) ANP(36=2)r6c23-r2c3=(2-7)r2c6=r3c5-(7=5)r8c5-r8c2=r7c3-r12c3=r3c2-(5=3)r3c7; r6c7<>3
5.) BUG+2 gives rrc3<>3 to complete the puzzle
