Sort of a w-wing with a xy chain replacing the bivalue strong link on one end...
Quote: | w-wing(79) with xy chain (9=7)r5c4 - r4c5=r4c3 - (7=5)r6c2-(5=9)r1c2-(9=5)r1c5-(5=9)r2c6 ; r45c6<>9 |
JC, I think this makes basically the same elimination as your m-wing-like move - so perhaps you don't need the x-wing? |

Peter, you are right. I missed the NP(15) even though I played with it in a 7-SIS continuous nice loop starting from (5)r2c6. I didn't check the grid, I only looked at the available exclusions I had. Thanks for the comment.

I tried to find xy-chains since they are difficult for me; I need the experience. I used the "storm_norm" technique: start in the middle and work both ends.

I played two ERs (9,7) which I don't know if were needed because later I found a hidden single that I missed. Regardless, from that point, an XY-Chain (r1c2<>5) did the trick. |
