| I wonder if I am the only one who does a bilocation/bivalue markup very soon after basics and looks for nice loops instead of the various alphabet wings. It took me 3 loops, eliminating 8 from r2c3, 3 from r7c8, and 2 from r9c2. Singles after that. Storm_norm's solution is certainly more direct. |

I believe <8> is a given in r1c1.

My bad; I didn't check if the puzzle given in the OP matched the thread title. I was writing about the second puzzle (VH11050002) in Helmut's Frequent Flyer Special Edition. The OP presented the third puzzle in that collection. You had me worried there, as I have caught myself ignoring a given now and again.  |

susume. I think you might be on to something.
I labeled this puzzle as number 2. but maybe it is number 3
helmut !!!! are the puzzle page numbers at the bottom of the pages or the top?? |

The page number at the bottom of the page and the VH1105xxx number near the top right corner of the puzzle are the same. Therefore, printed puzzles will present a consistent picture. BUT ...
Acrobat (Reader) toolbar shows physical pages (1/36) which include the title page. So if you display the pdf document in a web browser or in acrobat, be sure to look at the page and not at the toolbar for the correct page/puzzle number. |
