So, I think I understand some of the more advanced techniques like Swordfish and X-wing, but certainly those shouldn't be necessary on a puzzle rated "easy." I got stuck. I looked for hidden everything and just couldn't find anything. Finally I guessed right and then it went fast. There were sixes everywhere. I needed one to help reduce all of the other possibilities. If anyone found this easy, there must still be something that eludes me. Here's where the puzzle was when I didn't have a clue:
49 49 8 7 126 3 126 5 126
2 1 6 9 4 5 8 7 3
7 3 5 26 1268 168 4 9 126
5 69 7 4 3 68 126 168 29
89 2 3 1 68 7 56 4 5689
148 46 14 5 9 2 156 3 7
146 8 9 3 156 146 7 2 1456
146 5 124 26 7 9 3 168 1468
3 7 124 8 1256 146 9 16 1456
I hope my typing is clear. There are a lot of possibilities here. I don't see how to narrow them down. any help would be appreciated.

From the candidates you give there is only one place in row 6 for the 8.
Once you have placed this I think you'll find a lot of other numbers will
immediately fall into place.
Also the 5 is already placed in row 6 but you still have it as a candidate
elsewhere in the row.
I didn't actually do this puzzle myself, so I can't comment on whether it
seemed harder than usual. |

Oh yeah, why did I see those. You're right, they unlock a lot. Many thanks. |

Robert, I have no idea how this puzzle compared to others with the same grading, but it did not require swordfish or X-Wings. It was solvable with the basic techniques of pairs, triples, hidden singles and locked candidates. |
