I cannot find any way to solve the Jul 26 Hard puzzle without using advanced (VH) techniques. Basic elimination gets me to here:

Again, I can solve this using advanced techniques, but that would make this a VH puzzle.

No, that's not right! I solved it with basics.

Oh, I see what you're missing.
