Play this puzzle online at the Daily Sudoku site
Hi Sudoku Guys:
I was playing the Jan 28 H puzzle because I think the H's are more fun. This one was especially interesting. I was stuck at this point, so I asked for a hint. So far, so good. Draw/Play suggested that I play a 7 (of the 67 candidates) in r4c9. Probably will be productive.
The interesting part was that in the comments section, Draw/Play was "unable to explain" this hint, but the puzzle is still rated as "hard". I can see that in r6 the 6 must be in c8 or c9, meaning all other 6's in box 6 can be eliminated, leaving that suggested 7 as the only candidate.
I am unable to explain why Draw/Play is unable to explain. I have not encountered this before where Draw/Play refuses to explain a basic move. Can anyone explain the lack of explanation to me? |

The reason is quite elementary: Where does 6 fit in R6? (Row-Box intersection.)
I have no idea on the internal workings of Draw / Play.
